CONSENTIS is a forward-thinking initiative addressing the pressing challenges of personal data sharing within the framework of EU regulations and strategic initiatives such as eIDAS, EU Data Spaces, and GDPR.
The project introduces a comprehensive, user-centric framework that ensures individuals maintain full control over the collection and utilization of their personal data.
Motivation
The CONSENTIS project addresses critical challenges in personal data management and compliance with EU regulations, such as GDPR, eIDAS, and EU Data Spaces, by introducing an innovative, user-centric framework. Its focus on Self-Sovereign Identity and consent management empowers individuals with full control over their data while ensuring informed decision-making.
Project Objectives

Objective 1: Address the critical issues of identity management, consent management, and personal information sharing and usage between diverse contexts, technologies, and administrative domains.
CONSENTIS will develop a set of solutions that will allow users to efficiently manage their identities, protect their privacy and provide informed consent for personal data operations that take place across different contexts and administrative domains.
Objective 2: Deliver a complete framework agnostic to existing services and technologies that enables users (data subjects) to keep control of their identity information and monitor data sharing and processing.
CONSENTIS will build a framework that can be adopted without the need to change existing systems, protocols and formats. This framework will orchestrate all CONSENTIS solutions (Obj 1) to allow users to manage and monitor the usage of personal data across different services and domains.
Objective 3: Align CONSENTIS solutions with EU strategic initiatives and regulations and boost the EU data economy and innovation capacity of EU digital and data strategies.
CONSENTIS partners have been selected to form a consortium that brings together stakeholders who are involved in EU strategic initiatives for identity management, data economy, EU policies and regulations etc. These partners will (a) ensure that the project’s outcomes are aligned with these initiatives and regulations and (b) promote its innovations inside the appropriate groups, fora, standards etc.
Objective 4: Validate CONSENTIS identity solutions in multiple scenarios involving data transferring and processing across diverse actors, domains and contexts.
For the CONSENTIS project it is essential to provide proven results that our solution can address critical issues of identity management and personal data sharing across diverse contexts and domains, while ensuring that the user is always in control and able to provide informed consent on all involved operations.
Objective 5: Connect with external stakeholders (industry, academia, policy makers and regulators) to promote project results and receive valuable feedback. Aim for high societal and market impact.
CONSENTIS work will take place under the prism of industry adaptation and will be constantly presented and communicated to relevant stakeholders like industry, EU strategic initiatives, policy makers, and research organizations.
